about the project

this project aimed to improve the company’s goal planning system, through a design sprint process. the result enabled the transformation of the system into a strategic management platform, fostering greater efficiency, clarity, and user engagement in the planning, monitoring, and evaluation of organizational goals.

the challenge

during the design sprint’s mapping phase, several issues were identified that compromised the actual system efficiency and usability. the main challenges included:

💢 low usability and limited user autonomy
the previous interface was not intuitive, involved manual workflows, and required IT support for basic configurations, which limited user autonomy.

💢 lack of strategic management tools
the system did not allow for the breakdown of goals into strategic, tactical, and operational levels, making it difficult to align with organizational objectives.

💢 limited managerial information
static reports, lack of dashboards, and absence of performance indicators hindered effective goal monitoring and decision-making.

the approach

based on the pain points identified and the suggestions gathered from the teams involved, guidelines were defined for the development of a new, modern, functional, and strategic system.

redesign of the interface and usability
a responsive interface was prototyped, with intuitive navigation, goal categorization by type and timeline, and the inclusion of features such as change logs, a knowledge base, and attachment previews.

improved goal management
new functionalities were added, including “umbrella” goals, milestones, automated reward calculations, AI-based validations, and approval workflows for adjustments and replanning.

data-driven management
interactive dashboards were created, along with customizable reports featuring performance indicators (KPIs), automated email reports, configurable alerts, and the ability to track progress via a mobile app.
